Troy B, shakopee, MN:
I recently saw an ad on Discover.com for 5% cash-back on Expedia.com. I thought great, I was just booking a trip and clicked the link on Discover.com taking me Expedia, well I was unable to use my Discover card on Expedia because Delta doesn’t take discover. Guess I will switch to the Cabelas Visa at least there will be no false advertising there. Troy

I have used Discover in the past w/ Delta. Directly from their website:
” Can I make my reservation at delta.com and purchase my ticket later?
No. You must purchase your ticket when you make your reservation at delta.com. We accept American Express, Visa, MasterCard, Discover® Network, Carte Blanche, JCB, Delta Equity ”
So then I went to Expedia.com
“What are my payment options?
For most bookings, you can pay with Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover, Diners Club, and debit cards.”
Then I went to Expedia thru ShopDiscover. Same thing as above. I actually went all the way thru the booking process and it showed Discover as a payment option.
Far as I can see, both Delta & Expedia take Discover.
YES, Discover credit card (FOR NOW) is only not accepted for Virgin America but for rest of all branded airline companies of USA and all travel websites; do ACCEPT discover card. Gracias to Discover and Troy, i guess, you should talk to Expedia guys, maybe their mistake.
no false advertising at all. sounds like its DELTA who doesnt take discover card……
This is the 2nd time, Bethany, that you’ve relieved me of the need to point out faulty thinking in a Discovercard user’s comment. Feels good to let Discover know that some of their users understand and will defend what their services provide. Thanks
