Discover was my first real credit card and I love using it WHEREVER I go so I can get points for gift cards to buy things that I want, but don’t feel guilty for getting. Thank you so much! I love this program!

The Benefit Amount is payable on an excess basis over and above any amount due from any other valid or collectible insurance or any other form of reimbursement payable by those responsible for the loss or damage. I had a t.v. delivered damaged and Discover will not honor this benefit because the place of purchase replaced the t.v. . I am no lawyer but might need to get one. I am sure this means it is covered no matter what other reimbursement I get. Looks to me someone gets a bonus if they can deter a claim. Dumping Discover because integrity is a lost value in this world.
John’s Response doesn’t seem to relate to Valerie’s Comment. Looks like John is trying to get a free TV. If your damaged TV was replaced at no charge then there is no reason for Discover to reimburse you for the damaged TV. I understand the Benefit Program to protect a Discovercard purchase that is not otherwise replaced or refunded. Had John’s TV replacement been charged to his Discovercard then Discover would have made good on the amount of the damaged TV as payment toward the replacement cost. To expect a free replacement AND a refund seems excessive and not what the Benefit Program is intended to protect a Discovercard user from experiencing. If a lawyer takes your case I’d question the integrity of both of you. this is a common sense (not cents) issue.
Then they need to change their contract. Please forgive me for expecting a company to honor their word.
