Every year I travel to VA to spend Christmas with my brother and his family. I have had many, many medical bills and could not spend much for Christmas. My sister in law, too, has had a difficult year because she has been unemployed for the entire time. So, money is tight for her and my brother, too. Needless to say, we all have had to cut back on shopping for new clothes and such. With my cash back bonus, I was able to give my sister in law a gift card to a clothing store. Now she can buy a new outfit for going on interviews. Hopefully she will get a wonderful job soon.

My husband and I mainly use our Discover Card for purchases on gas and automotive repairs. Our card gives us 5% cash back on those purchases up to $100.00 every month. The cash back bonus we earn on those purchases, we apply to our summer property tax bill if we should happen to fall short of what we need to pay it. Otherwise, we hold on to it until it is needed.

A teen recently went out of the way to help an old lady in crisis. I used some of my cashback bonus award to anonymously send a gift certificate to this wonderful person for a partner. I wanted to show that adults notice kindness.

I later learned that this young person had no winter coat. In spite of being cold, this young person choose to purchase for others in the family first and found a sale item at the merchant to keep warm all winter.

I would not have been able to send such a large gift without the rewards program. This is one young person who will go on to continue small acts of kindness for others.

I was very disappointed when I got my last statement. I purchase gas at Mills Fleet Farm all the time at their Gas Mart. When I got my statement and looked at my cashback bonus, I didn’t receive the 5% for gas. I sent an email to Discover and they told me that since “gas is not their primary business”, i was not entitled to the 5%. Where is that in the fine print. I sent them another email showing my displeasure, and got nothing back in return. I will not be using my Discover Card again and am switching to CHASE REWARDS.

Lovin how you can earn cash back and use it to credit your account for new purchases. I was able to afford a new Ipad 2 to assist me with my MaryKay business. This allows me mobile access to my business and allows me to share all that MaryKay has to offer my new clients. I can stay connected and that means growth for my business!

We, my husband and I, use our Discover card for EVERYTHING! If we buy a $.45 stamp, we use our Discover card. We make sure we sign up for the 5% quarterly and monthly cash back bonus offers as well as us the on-line shopping to build up our cash back bonus. When it comes to birthdays and/or Christmas, if we are short of cash, we order cash back bonus cards to be able to give nice gifts without spending a cent! And, our relatives and friends really appreciate the cards! Especially the Bed, Bath and Beyond cards, where you can buy almost anything!

Lastly, I am not sure if the vendors who deal with Discover realize this, no one can go into the store with a $25. and/or $50. card and just spend that amount! We/they almost always spend more money, bringing the vendor more business.

We LOVE our Discover card.

I first want to say that I’ve been with Discover since I was in my early 20′s (1990 – you can do the math), and I have always loved it. I take full advantage of the cashback bonus program and have used it over and over to buy gift cards for my girls for Christmas. Now that they are teens, they REALLY love the gift cards more than anything else. Thank you DISCOVER for giving me and my kids a better-than-we-would-have-had Christmas for so many years.

My husband is a huge fan of Walt Disney World, though the trips have been few over the years. I couldn’t think of a better surprise for this major milestone (50th birthday) than to send him to Disney World.

Thanks to the money in our cashback bonus account I was able to plan a terrific surprise trip to Walt Disney World for four nights and three magical days. He was so surprised and pleased. The trip was extra special for us both because we hadn’t been together as a couple since our honeymoon in 1983.

The cashback is free money for us as we pay off the credit card bill each month it becomes due.

Starting today we begin planning for our next ‘cashback’ trip.

I love the Discover cashback bonus. You can increase your rewards by purchasing a gift card or just getting straight cash.
There’s no Peggy. I’ve used them for years, and Discover gives you extra cash back values they offer each month or quarter. So if you use your charge in those areas during the allotted time, you get a higher percentage rate. Of course they want you to use their card, and it is so much easier purchasing something on a card when you can’t afford cash, so you have to be wary of that so you don’t get yourself in a jam…I did that too. But for discover, I would choose them over AMEX or Visa or Mastercard. Did I tell you they don’t charge an annual fee? I am rambling….

I am a medical student who is jobless and has to live on financial aid. So, to make the most of, I purchase any many necessities as I can using my Discover card. When I get my Cashback bonus after buying tons and tons of books and all kinds of medical equipment, I can use the bonus to get something just for myself. This wouldn’t be possible if wasn’t for Discover! Besides, it makes buying those overpriced textbooks just a little easier to deal with. With the great Cashback with Amazon, it adds even more! One of these days I hopefully won’t be pinching pennies, but I’ll always think of those extra perks that Discover provided to help me make it through these tough 4 years.
